Friendship and business rarely go hand-in-hand, but for BFFs Sonam Pall and Shreya Dalmia Agarwal this rule turned out to be an exception. The founders of one of the premium trunk shows in India – the S&S Trunk Show — give all the credit to their common interest in fashion and entrepreneurship. The two bright girls, who have successfully conducted the 15th edition of this luxury exhibition, are not only certified fashionistas but are also equipped with meticulous training in finance and business.
In 2011, this trunk show started off with a private showcasing of luxury and designer brands like Roberto Cavalli, Missoni, Emilio Pucci, Bally, Porsche Design, Jimmy Choo, Furla, Alexander McQueen, Dior Kids, Baby Ralph Lauren, Armani Junior, Prada, Ted Baker, Fendi,Baby Fendi, Outhouse and Valliyan. These two game changers tell us their interesting story behind the “Trunk call” that changed the face of fashion exhibitions in India.

1.Please tell us something about the how the journey of S&S started, and how far do you plan to take it?
S&S:
We started as a private and exclusive viewing platform for a niche fashion market showcasing Pakistani designers. Since then we have grown to include a variety of designers both Indian and International with our last show having more than 70 participants. Our aim is to introduce more and more people to the joy of trunk show shopping with a variety of unique and well curated brands all under one roof. For us each show is an opportunity to outdo ourselves. We want S&S to be a name synonymous with glamour, luxury, fashion and lifestyle all over India. The S&S Trunk Shows inaugural Mumbai Edition on 1st September ’15 brings us closer to realizing this dream.

2. Since it’s a platform for high end fashion and luxury, tell us about your favourite brands (indian or/and international).
S&S:
We love fashion! Be it established designers or an upcoming label, fashion has the blood in our veins humming. Amongst the iconic Indian designers we absolutely love Rohit Bal, Atsu, Sidhartha Tytler, Patine and Gauri n Nainika, to name a few. These iconic labels all have one thing in common an unparalleled aesthetic sense that compliments and flatters the Indian silhouette. As for International brands one of our all time favourites is Elie Saab. His creations have the unique quality of being complex constructions and yet they are bewitching and elegantly simple at the same time!

3. Top three fashion fundas that you swear by?
S&S:
We believe that fashion is an expression of oneself. What we wear, how we dress, our fashion choices tell a story about who we are. So our top three fashion fundas are:
1.) Be yourself, because the way you dress gives the world an insight into who you are.
2.) Choose clothes that are comfortable and fashionable, this is an unbeatable combination.
3.) Don’t follow the band wagon; individuality goes a long way in making a fashion statement.
