This time for the review section we have a very special set of products that arrived on my doorstep exactly a month ago. Now what took me so long to write about one of these things was the test of time and you will get to know that very soon. As my weakness for organic and natural beauty products is pretty evident from my earlier blogs, a highly reputed Indian brand Mantra (authentic Ayurveda) approached me to try out some of their products. The brand is part of the 100 year old Baidyanath group which was established in 1917, and is known for promoting Ayurvedic products across the globe. As Mantra’s beauty range is inspired by natural elements and claims to be 100 per cent vegetarian and chemical free, the pro-environment consumers can use it with clear conscious.
The three products that I received to review for Mantra were Kokkum Butter and Pistachio winter care lotion, Haritaki and Black Pepper cellulite oil and Lime and Olive hair conditioner for men. And, here are my two cents on these beauty products, hope you find it helpful if you are planning to purchase it any soon.
Kokkum Butter and Pistachio winter care lotion:
Winters in Delhi can be pretty lethal and in no given circumstances should be taken lightly. Now most girls when they step out, they believe in slapping a hearty layer of body lotion on their body to protect the skin from drying up. However, it’s not only silly but also quite a waste because half of it not even absorbed by the skin and gets soaked by the clothes. So when I tried Mantra’s Kokkum Butter and Pistachio winter care lotion the first thing I observed that it was absorbed by the skin within seconds of application and it did not leave any oily after effect. The lotion was absolutely light in its consistency and had a strong floral smell, which stays on for quite some time. The goodness of Kokkum butter and almond oil base keeps the skin hydrated and soft. A 100 ml bottle of this lotion costs INR 493, and for this price the product is definitely worth a buy.
Haritaki and Black Pepper cellulite oil:
So cellulite or the unwanted fat deposition a big problem among men and women, luckily I have never faced it so far but I always wished for a magic concoction that could trim unwanted fat off my body. So when I got the Haritaki and Black Pepper cellulite oil for review, I thought of trying it on specific fat prone areas and see the result. It took me a month to see the changes I wanted to see, and trust me it worked. So I used it on my upper arms and calves and treated it with a hot towel wrap for five minutes before taking a shower, and it did tone my limbs after regular use. I also applied a bit of it after bath and it kept my skin supple for the entire day. I especially liked the packaging of this product as it came in a fancy bottle with a press knob that extracts exactly the amount of drops you want. The combination of sesame seed oils, apricot oils with herbs like black pepper and haritaki turned out to be really helpful in keeping me warm this season. The 100 ml bottle of this oil costs around INR 538, which might seem costly to some, but hey it’s the good oil that keeps your fat in check so give it shot I say.
Lime and Olive hair conditioner for men:
Well the third product was tried and tested by a male friend and according to his notes I concluded some really interesting observations for this review. Guys are usually very price conscious so when he found out that a 100 ml bottle of this conditioner was for INR 493, he was quite shocked. Anyhow he really liked using this product as the conditioner was very light and didn’t stick to his hair after shampoo. It was also almost odourless and came in a very handy bottle that made it easy to use. He said he would buy it again because the olive oil and lemon extracts made his hair smoother and shinny.
